Entered Arizona about the first half hour on today's ride. Did about 20 miles on interstate 10. Then turned onto Highway 60. Highway 60 has got to be the most boring mind numbing road I have ever seen. We had twins from our left almost the whole day sometimes up to 30 miles per hour. However the winds help too cool for us against the hot Sun. Arrived in Wickenburg about 4 p.m.. A lot to do once you finish the ride; check in, call the wife, eat your first dinner, clean and lubricate your bike, shower, stretch, put lotion on, tend to any sores, eat your second meal stretch again take a protein shake, attend the rap meeting, respond to comments on the blog, start charging your electronics your cell phone and your cycle computer, decide and pick out what you will wear for tomorrow's ride, shaved, do laundry,
Isn't doing laundry at a laundromat fun?!! The only saving grace is that you can get multiple loads done at the same time. Of all the things I value, having my own laundry at home was first big step in being self-sufficient.
ReplyDeleteThis tour has been a real baptism of fire. I hope the route gets easier soon. You look like you will survive in your pictures. We are thinking of you every minute of the day.
Love,
Mom & Dad

DeleteWelcome to Arizona Mark! The scenery should start to get better, especially as you get closer to Sedona. Tim and I are praying for you and Sandy. Excited to be able to watch your incredible journey unfold. Are you passing through Jerome tomorrow? That should be interesting if you are. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteYep. Ate a burger in Jerome before descending to Cottonwood. thanks for the prayers.
DeleteBoo, I just love seeing your face! Rest those legs and stay safe. I wish you could ride in the air on the freeway. it seemed extremely window. Pace yourself on the climb today and act like you are climbing towards something fun. Love you so. sandy
